Mr Jermy highlighted the vulnerability of Britain’s critical infrastructure and the risk of an adversary targeting the systems the public relies on.

Therefore, the former commander warned the UK would need to prepare for disruption to communications and other forms of pressure designed to undermine the country without necessarily involving a conventional invasion.

Speaking to the GB News contributor, Mr Jermy stressed the importance of understanding the scale of the threat and ensuring Britain has the military capability and resilience needed to withstand a major conflict.
