Conservative MP Matt Vickers has called for calm following a serious of disorder in Middlesborough, following a fatal crash on the A66.
Speaking to GB News, the representative for Stockton West told reporter Will Godley: “People are thinking about the criminals, they’re thinking about what’s going on, but actually the starting point is to think about those brave police officers, the families involved, about some of the other incidents that have gone on in this part of the world and the loss of life with that young girl.

“A horrendous, horrendous situation that nobody ever wants to see. Lots of incidents in this part of the world, not all related, lots of details emerging.
“It’s devastating for Cleveland police force, that’s gone through lots of turmoil and change in recent years anyway, and I think the scenes of those burnt out cars, they’re just not what people want to see now.
“They want a bit of comfort that everything’s under control, the police are on top of this, that the resource is there to keep people in this part of the world safe.”
