Schoolboy, 14, charged over London KFC 'machete fight' that left four with stab wounds

A 14-year-old schoolboy has been charged in connection to an incident at a London KFC which left four people with stab wounds.

Officers responded to reports of an altercation on Bromley High Street at around 2.15pm on September 10.

A man, aged 21, and three boys between 14 and 17 were rushed to hospital while four other boys were arrested.

All of those injured have now been arrested, making eight arrests in connection to the incident.

Six have since been released on bail with conditions while the investigation continues.

Now, MP for Bromley and Biggin Hill Peter Fortune has confirmed a 14-year-old has been charged with one count of affray and two counts of threatening a person with a bladed article or offensive weapon in a public place.

On Saturday, he appeared at Bromley Magistrates’ Court and been remanded into custody, the MP said.

He will next appear at the same court on Wednesday.

The 21-year-old man injured was previously in critical condition, but his injuries are now considered not to be life-threatening, according to the Daily Mail.

Others injured have now been discharged from hospital, the paper added.

Road disruptions were in place after the incident, with multiple bus routes diverted and parts of some roads closed down.

On Friday, the Met Police said: “Officers attended the scene alongside the London Ambulance Service and London’s Air Ambulance and found four men with stab wounds.

“Three of them were taken to hospital where they are receiving treatment for non-life-threatening injuries. One is in critical condition.

“Police enquiries continue and there is not believed to be any wider threat to the public.”

A London Ambulance spokesman said it sent ambulance crews, a paramedic in a fast response car, an incident response officer and advanced paramedic to the scene.

“We also dispatched London’s Air Ambulance,” it added.

“We treated four patients at the scene and took them all to hospital.”

A KFC spokesman said at the time: “We can confirm that a serious incident took place this afternoon in our Bromley High Street restaurant.

“We are working with the police on their ongoing investigation.

“Our priority is supporting our team members and customers at this difficult time.”
