Two police officers are among those injured in a shooting in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
In a statement on social media at 11.10pm the City of Minneapolis said police were at the scene of a shooting in the area of E 15 Grant Street involving “multiple victims”.
Dozens of police officers remained in a large cordon as of 5.45pm local time (11.45pm BST).
Governor Tim Walz said state officials were on the ground to support local police and more information would be available as it becomes available.
“My public safety team is responding to a shooting that took place downtown Minneapolis this afternoon,” he said.

Both officers are said to be okay, according to a reporter with CBS’ Minnesota affiliate WCCO citing a “high-ranking” police source.
Law enforcement from multiple agencies, including specialist agencies from the bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) remain on the scene.
The city has urged residents to avoid the area from 12th street to Franklin, Hennepin to 3rd Ave S.
