Anyone with information about the movement of mopeds seen in the vicinity immediately before or after the shooting have also been urged to get in touch.

Detective Chief Inspector Claire Guiver, who is leading the investigation, said: “Our thoughts remain with Bile-aka’s family as they come to terms with this tragic incident.

“We continue to appeal for anyone with information to come forward. If you were in the area at the time of the shooting, witnessed anything suspicious or have any CCTV, dashcam or doorbell footage that could assist our investigation, we urge you to get in touch.

“Any piece of information could prove vital in helping us piece together the full circumstances.”

Lambeth Council’s Cabinet Member for Safer, Thriving Neighbourhoods Jonathan Bartley said: “Behind the police investigation and the headlines is a young man whose life has been taken, a family grieving an unimaginable loss, and friends and neighbours trying to come to terms with what has happened.

“Our thoughts are first and foremost with Auguste-Marie’s family and everyone who loved him. We will do everything we can to support the police investigation and to support and reassure the community in the days ahead.

“This is the second young man to have been killed in Clapham in a matter of weeks. We cannot allow violence of this kind to become something we simply accept or become accustomed to.

“Recent events demand a renewed focus on safety in Clapham.

“That means working with the police, but it also means listening to residents, businesses, young people and community organisations about what is happening in the area and what needs to change.”
