An elderly woman found dead at her home after being “murdered” in her own home has been named.
Jill Grant was found dead in her home in Abingdon, Oxfordshire, on Thursday afternoon.
A 36-year-old man has since been arrested on suspicion of murder.
Her family has released an image of the pensioner after she was found dead in her flat.

In a statement, police said: “Thames Valley Police can confirm the identity of the victim in its Major Crime Unit’s ongoing murder investigation in Abingdon.
“The investigation was launched after officers were called to an address in Appleford Drive at around 2.20pm on Thursday (10/9).
“The victim has been identified as Jill Gant, aged 88, of Appleford Drive, Abingdon.
“Her family have released the image below.”
Senior Investigating Officer Detective Chief Inspector Stuart Brangwin, of the Major Crime Unit, said: “Our thoughts remain with Jill’s family.
“We would ask, on their behalf, that their privacy is respected at this difficult time.
“Specially trained officers continue to support Jill’s family.
“The 36-year-old man, from Abingdon, we arrested on suspicion of murder remains in our custody at this time.”

It comes just days after detectives in Merseyside have failed to identify a woman who was found dead in a busy Liverpool park, two weeks after her remains were discovered.
Officers were called to Stanley Park at around 5.25pm on Friday, August 28, when the body of a woman in her 70s was discovered in a black bin bag in a walled garden.
However, Merseyside Police has now been able to rule out 73 names supplied to them by concerned members of the public.
Forensic tests and repeated public appeals from officers have failed to lead to an identification of the woman.
The woman’s body was discovered in bushes by a walled garden in Stanley Park, between Liverpool’s Anfield and Everton’s Goodison Park football grounds.
Officers believe the bag had been there for several weeks before it was found.
The woman has been described as white, believed to be around 70 years old, approximately 5ft 2in tall and of slight build, with strawberry blonde hair.
She was found wearing what detectives described as a “distinctive” pink Nike T-shirt.
