In the first episode of GB Dads, Patrick Christys, Martin Daubney, and Ben Leo were joined by James Ray to discuss the realities of fatherhood in the modern world.
The four discussed candidly the often traumatic moment of childbirth from the father’s perspective, with Martin explaining his own experience was not the “sweetness and light” it is often portrayed.

“It was a nightmare. My kid almost died… nobody ever prepared you for that,” he said, adding: “He made it. He’s beautiful. He’s 17. But the birth can be very tricky.”
Patrick concurred, saying: “Whether it goes well or badly, it’s still a kind of amazing experience.
“It’s just awe-inspiring the whole thing—so many different emotions.”
