Meghan Markle can be heard exclaiming Prince Harry’s love for bagpipes in footage shared online as the couple stepped out for the 40th anniversary gala of The David Foster Foundation on Friday evening.
The Duchess of Sussex shared footage of the occasion, held in the music producer’s hometown of Victoria, British Columbia, on Instagram the following day, capturing the pair strolling through a corridor flanked by bagpipers as they made their entrance.
Meghan could not resist a lighthearted jab at her husband, declaring to the musicians: “My husband loves bagpipes!”
As the couple continued past the pipers, she exclaimed: “Oh my god, this is amazing!”

Prince Harry then joined in the fun, quipping to the bagpipers: “Where are mine?” before insisting he was capable of playing both “pipes and drums.”
Meghan’s video concluded by panning across the printed programme for the gala and concert, offering followers a taste of the evening’s proceedings.
The mother of two also shared a sweet selfie of the pair, both beaming from ear to ear before entering the event.
For the occasion, the duchess opted for a striking black one-shoulder draped gown by Canadian label Greta Constantine. She completed the look with diamond and sapphire earrings from the personal collection of the late Princess Diana.
Poignantly, the appearance comes just days after Harry and Meghan are understood to have taken Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet to visit the Althorp estate in Northamptonshire, where the duke’s mother was laid to rest.
Harry complemented his wife’s ensemble with a traditional black tuxedo and bow tie.

The pair posed alongside their hosts, music producer David Foster and his wife Katharine McPhee, with whom they share a longstanding friendship.
The David Foster Foundation was established in 1986 with the aim of offering financial assistance to Canadian families whose children require life-saving organ transplants, whilst also promoting awareness of organ donation across Canada and the United States.
The couple’s bond with Mr Foster stretches back years. In 2019, the Canadian music producer arranged accommodation for them at a friend’s mansion on Vancouver Island during a particularly turbulent period.
Following the Sussexes’ departure from royal duties and relocation to California, the two couples were spotted dining together at Lucky’s Steakhouse in Montecito.
Speaking at the time, Mr Foster told the Daily Mail: “I felt honoured that I was able to help Meghan there because I’m a Canadian, and we’re a Commonwealth country – we’re the Crown’s.”
He added: “I was really happy to be able to help them to find a respite just to take a little time off.”
