Man, 21, charged with drug offences amid police investigation into A66 crash

A 21-year-old man arrested over the investigation into events leading up to the fatal A66 crash has been charged with a drugs offence, Cleveland Police have confirmed.

Kai Inico, who was arrested on Monday night on suspicion of participating in an organised crime group, has been charged with possession with intent to supply a class B drug.

Four other people arrested by Cleveland Police on Monday night have also been bailed.

This includes a 16-year-old boy and 18-year-old man arrested on suspicion of participating in an organised crime group, a 55-year-old man arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender and a 23-year-old man arrested on suspicion of threats to kill.

The town has become engulfed in violence and disorder since the fatal A66 crash early on Saturday, which killed PC Matthew Blades, 37, and PC Tom Clough, 38, along with five people in the Passat – Cole Worthy and Theo Rae, both 17, Makai Saddington, 18, and Michael Robert Cahill and Jakub Matusiak, both 23.
