Lee Anderson has revealed he could step away from frontline politics after the next General Election.
Speaking to GB News, the Reform Party Chairman admitted he had a desire to “try something a little bit different”.
Sitting down at the Reform party conference in Birmingham with GB News’s Chief Political Correspondent Katherine Forster, Mr Anderson was asked if he was considering leaving politics altogether.
“No, I’m at a certain age now, Katherine. Well, you know, you have to think about your future,” Mr Anderson said.

The Ashfield MP, who is 59, expected he would eventually take a backseat from the rough-and-tumble of top-tier politics.
Nevertheless, he insisted: “At the next election I will stand again.”
“And that will probably take me up to about 67, 68 years old. That’s normal retirement age.”
Mr Anderson said, after reaching that point, he could look towards a different role in politics.
“And at that age, I probably want to try something a little bit different,” he said.
“Maybe go back into local politics, be a local councillor or something like that.”
Despite discussing his longer-term political future, Mr Anderson insisted Reform was preparing for a potentially imminent General Election.
“We’re gearing up for a General Election that could come at any time,” he said.

Asked whether he would be ready, he replied: “Yeah, 100 per cent.”
Mr Anderson suggested there were several possible scenarios for when the country could next go to the polls, including an election later this year.
“It could go next year. I think it could even go this year at some stage, maybe November, December time,” he said.
The Reform MP claimed Prime Minister Andy Burnham could potentially call an early election even at the expense of Labour MPs in traditional Red Wall seats.
“I think he’s the type of guy who would actually sacrifice 50 or 60 backbench Red Wall MPs to secure another victory that might be in his thinking,” Mr Anderson said.
“I don’t know, but I don’t trust the man.”
