Jet2 staff were called Nazis by a drunken passenger as 300 people had their “holidays ruined” after being forced off their flight.
Jason Mulhern, 57, was handed a suspended prison sentence after his drunken, abusive outburst on a flight from Manchester Airport to Dalaman, Turkey with his wife in June 2024.
His foul-mouthed tirade against cabin crew led to the flight being delayed by two hours before the journey was scrapped entirely.
Manchester Crown Court heard the delay pushed the departure beyond safe flying hours, forcing around 300 passengers off the aircraft.
Most of those affected needed hotel accommodation and meals, which the airline was forced to offer up in their hour of need.
The trouble began when Mulhern and his partner became embroiled in a heated argument with a fellow passenger after his wife was accused of making a remark about the other person’s accent.
Cabin crew responded by telling the couple they would be barred from purchasing alcohol during the flight.
The potty-mouthed passenger hit back with aggression and anger at being unable to drink, the court heard.
He directed vile abuse at a female member of cabin crew, calling her “a f***ing Nazi and a c**t”.
The potty-mouthed passenger also hurled the same Nazi slur at several other staff members.
The pair caused such a disturbance, when the troublemakers were informed they would be ejected from the aircraft, fellow passengers broke into rapturous applause.
Judge Elizabeth Nicholls condemned Mulhern for his abhorrent actions during sentencing.

“Nobody was forcing you to drink. There was no need to drink, that was a choice you took,” she said.
Continuing, the judge added: “Your conduct caused the plane to be delayed again. Your conduct alone was responsible for the loss of that day’s flight.
“A flight that everyone’s holidays had to be deferred, everyone had to make alternative arrangements, everyone had to be put up in hotels.
“You ruined or potentially ruined every other person’s holiday who boarded that flight. That was the impact of your single behaviour.
“What you did was quite frankly despicable. It caused chaos and distress to a large number of people. I hope you now understand the consequences of your behaviour.”
Mulhern received an eight-month prison sentence, suspended for 18 months.
He was also ordered to complete 300 hours of unpaid work and five days of rehabilitation activity requirements.
An alcohol abstinence order lasting 120 days was imposed alongside £500 in court costs. Mulhern has received a life-long ban from flying with Jet2.
The prosecution told the court that Jet2 is also pursuing a civil claim against him totalling £44,710, covering the cost of hotel accommodation and delays caused by the cancellation.
