Jane Moore has mocked Adam Ramsay-Peaty’s comments about forgiving his estranged family, ridiculing the Olympic swimmer’s insistence that reconciliation would only be possible if he believed relatives had “improved as people”.
Writing in her latest column, Ms Moore seized on Adam’s recent remarks about his Christian faith, after the Team England swimmer said becoming a Christian had taught him forgiveness but that restoring relationships would depend on whether he felt family members had fundamentally changed.
“ADAM RAMSAY-PEATY says that, as a Christian, he has the capacity to forgive his family but only if ‘I feel like they’ve improved as people’,” Ms Moore wrote, before adding: “Big of him.”
She went on to mock the idea that the three-time Olympic champion could somehow assess whether his relatives had changed enough, quipping: “And how will he measure this required evolvement… an online Q&A perhaps?”
The Loose Women panellist then constructed a tongue-in-cheek multiple-choice scenario centred on Adam’s parents.
She noted they had spent his childhood supporting his swimming ambitions and making 4am starts to drive him to competitions.
Ms Moore then asked whether parents who had later found themselves excluded from their son’s wedding should “say nothing because you know your place and wouldn’t want to upset Adam’s precious sensitivities”, or instead tell him “the little gobsh*** has disappeared up his own backside and forgotten his roots”.
The remarks come amid a long-running and highly publicised family rift that escalated ahead of Adam’s December 2025 wedding to Holly Ramsay, daughter of celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay.
Sources say Adam’s mother, Caroline Peaty, was uninvited from the Bath Abbey ceremony and excluded from Holly’s hen party.
His father, Mark Peaty, declined to attend after allegedly being told he could only do so if he sat at the back of the church.
Aside from Adam’s sister, Bethany, none of his immediate family attended the wedding.
The division deepened further when the swimmer legally changed his surname to Ramsay-Peaty.

Caroline has since accused the Ramsay family of isolating her son from his parents, brothers and wider relatives, allegations Gordon Ramsay has strongly denied.
Mr Ramsay insisted Adam’s family were treated “like royalty” and that decisions surrounding the wedding guest list were made solely by Adam and Holly.
The personal dispute has also played out publicly during Adam’s sporting career.
Following an emotional appearance at the Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games, where he won silver and bronze medals for Team England, the swimmer admitted the ongoing family situation had been “taking its toll”.
In recent interviews, Adam has explained that his Christian faith has transformed his outlook on life and that forgiveness is central to his beliefs.
Despite the continuing estrangement, Adam’s mother has said the family continues to support him “from afar”, while relatives have publicly appealed for the Olympic champion to reconcile with his parents.
Meanwhile, Adam and Holly are preparing to welcome their first child together, while he also co-parents his five-year-old son, George, from a previous relationship.
