IKEA is set to host a one-off unlimited meatball offer later this month, with its “Eatball Buffet” landing across UK stores on Thursday, September 24.
The Swedish furniture giant’s restaurants will dish up bottomless servings of its famous meatballs for £5 per person for IKEA Family cardholders. Children can get stuck in for just £1.
The event promises to elevate the typical midweek dinner by giving fans of the retailer’s Swedish staple the chance to eat as many as they can manage in a single sitting.
Participating stores will be given a full nightclub makeover for the occasion, with velvet ropes and VIP wristbands that will transform the usual dining spaces into an exclusive venue.

Guests will receive entry stamps and can pose in front of a meatball-themed photo backdrop.
Standing guard at the entrance will be a full-size Meatball Bouncer, tasked with handing out wristbands and setting the tone for the evening’s festivities.
There is plenty of choice for hungry diners, as the buffet menu spans four options: the original Swedish meatball, chicken meatballs, plant balls and crunchy falafel balls.

Each comes with the traditional accompaniments — mash or chips, peas, cream sauce and lingonberry jam — alongside soft drinks, tea or filter coffee.
As the September school routine will be back in full swing by then, an affordable all-you-can-eat midweek supper could be a fun option for households across the country.
Tickets can be pre-booked through the events page of each participating store’s website, or purchased at the checkout on the night itself. Those without the free IKEA Family membership will pay £6.95 for adults and £2.95 for children.
The buffet is running at most UK locations, though Aberdeen, Brighton, Chester, Hammersmith, Harlow, Norwich and Oxford Street are excluded.
Shoppers in central Scotland should note IKEA Glasgow will hold its event a week earlier, on Wednesday, September 16.
Those visiting on the night can also browse newly reduced prices on popular ranges, with the KALLAX shelving unit cut 18 per cent to £49 and the HEMNES daybed down 15 per cent to £279.
