In today’s GB News Daily Reflection, we recall how Jesus gives practical wisdom for dealing with conflict.

“If a disagreement cannot be resolved privately, he says to involve one or two more. Why? Because there may be more to the story than one person has understood our perspective. However, sincere is not necessarily the whole truth. Sometimes we may simply be wrong.

“Jesus speaks about having two or three witnesses so that every word may be established. This is so important. Before accusations become conclusions, there should be an effort to establish what actually happened. Good conflict resolution depends upon facts, not assumptions or rumours or one sided accounts.

“When we are hurt, it’s easy to interpret things or everything through the lens of that hurt. The purpose of Jesus teaching here is not to create a courtroom atmosphere. It’s to seek resolution and restoration of relationship through truth, fairness, and reconciliation.

“The presence of witnesses can slow down the rush to judgment and help everyone see the situation more clearly. Sometimes the most courageous words in a disagreement are ‘I may have got this wrong’.”
