In today’s GB News Daily Reflection, we remember that as Christians believe, prayer isn’t simply asking God for things, it’s coming honestly before the God who knows us completely.
“Sometimes it’s only when we stop running that we’re able to notice we’re in need. Many of us spend our lives in near constant motion and activity. There’s always something demanding our attention a screen, a task, a podcast, a conversation, a notification.

“We fill our lives with activity and distraction and rarely make space for quiet and solitude. One of the striking things about Jesus is that he regularly did the opposite.
“One such moment is in Matthew’s gospel, when he sends his disciples and the crowds away and goes up a mountainside by himself to pray.
“Perhaps he knew something. We often forget that it’s only in stillness that we begin to notice what is really going on inside us. And sometimes it’s only when we stop running that we discover just how much we need him and how ready he is to meet us.”
