In today’s GB News Daily Reflection, we remember that you don’t have to have every answer to every question before you begin exploring who Jesus is, but eventually his question becomes yours to answer.
“One day Jesus asked his closest friends, who do people say that I am? They listed the opinions they had heard. Some thought he was a great teacher. Others believed he was a prophet. Everyone seemed to have an opinion.

“And then Jesus turned to the disciple Peter and made it personal. It’s recorded in Matthew’s Gospel, Chapter 16. But what about you? Who do you say that I am? And Peter answered, you are the Messiah, the son of the living God.
“Peter wasn’t repeating something he had heard from others. He had come to recognise that Jesus wasn’t simply another inspiring leader. It wasn’t information. It was revelation. Jesus responded by saying that Peter hadn’t figured this out by human understanding alone. God had opened his eyes to see the truth.
“That is encouraging because faith isn’t reserved for people with all the answers. Nor is it reserved for the intellectuals or the religious. They are not the ones who necessarily come to know God. It begins when we become open to seeing Jesus for who he really is.

“Many people today admire Jesus. They appreciate his teachings about love and forgiveness and caring for one another. He is widely recognised as the world’s greatest teacher, even by his critics. But Jesus never asked people. If people admired him, he asked who they believed he was.

“And that question still reaches out across centuries. The invitation of Christianity isn’t simply to adopt a new religion or become more moral, it’s to know a person. The same invitation remains open today. You don’t have to have every answer to every question before you begin exploring who Jesus is, but eventually his question becomes yours to answer.”
