In today’s GB News Daily Reflection, we consider Romans 12 and how to respond to anger with kindness rather than vengeance.
It encourages Christians to leave justice to God and respond to enemies by doing good, feeding them and showing compassion. The message is to overcome evil with good, even towards those who have angered or hurt us.
“I will repay, says the Lord. So if your enemies are hungry, instead of being angry, feed them. If they are thirsty, instead of being frustrated with them, give them something to drink. By doing this, you will heap burning coals on their heads.
“This idea of heaping burning coals on their head could sound like you’re trying to burn them. But back in the day, the burning coal was the way of lighting fire.
“You were giving them your warmth. You were giving them your kindness. You are warming them up.
“I wonder today, who could we help? Who in your life is angering you that you could help instead of hurt?”
