In today’s GB News Daily Reflection, we examine how belief is strange, and what causes us to believe things is often very unusual in this scenario.

“Believing in things is often difficult. We believe if we see or we believe if we hear or we believe if our rational brain can logically understand. In the Bible we read of many things that are unbelievable. They’re just unbelievable. I can’t believe they happened.

“In Matthew 27 it talks about after Jesus’s resurrection, people rose from the dead and wandered around the city. People saw dead people wandering around. How unbelievable is that?

But then it goes on to say this Matthew 27, verse 54, now when the centurion’s the soldiers and those who are with them, who are keeping watch over Jesus’s tomb, when they saw the earthquake and what took place, they were terrified and said, truly, this man was the Son of God.

“They believed because they were terrified. They believed because they were afraid of the alternative. Fear, the fear of the alternative, the fear of the what if?

“What if it’s true? What if it’s actually happening? What if it’s actually real? That was enough for those men, those soldiers, to believe. I wonder what would make you believe.”
