In today’s GB News Daily Reflection, we remember how Jesus Christ made peace on the cross through his own death.
“If you could wish one thing for this world, what would it be? Very common answer, people say, is world peace, no more fighting, no more war. It’s almost too good to imagine. But where would such a peace come from?
“The Apostle Paul writes in Romans chapter 12. Live in harmony with one another. Do not be proud, but be willing to associate with people of low position. As far as it depends on you. Live at peace with everyone. He calls Christians to be humble, harmonious peacemakers. As far as it depends on you, the people of peace, not hostility. As far as it depends on you. If we read Romans carefully that peace in Chapter 12 is the fruit that comes from a far deeper root. Chapters 1 to 11.
“He’s made clear that while we were still God’s enemies, Jesus Christ made peace on the cross through his own death. He offered himself as a peace offering between God and a hostile world turned away from its creator. The cross becomes ground zero for a peacemaking mission that extends to the ends of the earth.
“As a Christian minister has been a great privilege for me to see that same humble, sacrificial peacemaking power expressed in the lives of ordinary people who’ve experienced the power and peace that Jesus Christ offers. Those who have tasted his peace can offer peace to others. Have you found that?”
