In today’s GB News Daily Reflection, we acknowledge that Jesus reminds us that God is always at work, often in hidden ways, and God specialises in taking small seeds and turning them into a vast harvest, often when we least expect it.
“I often find that the change in seasons takes me by surprise, even though I know that it’s coming. This year we went on holiday for a week after Easter, and when we returned home, it felt like the garden had just exploded with life whilst we weren’t looking.

“Jesus used a parable to make a similar point. God’s kingdom, he said, is like a man who plants seed in the ground and then goes about his daily rhythm, sleeping and rising each day until one day the seeds spring forth into life.
“Well, what does Jesus parable tell us? Firstly, it tells us that all of us have a part to play. We’re like the farmer sowing seed. We’re called to be active. Participants were called to action.
“But lest we have an inflated view of our own importance, Jesus reminds us that it’s God who brings the growth and transformation. This lesson brings great liberty. Maybe you’re faithfully plugging away, sowing seeds of hope and truth, but seeing nothing.”
