The Foreign Office has issued a fresh US travel warning, with Britons told flights could be cancelled at the last moment.
British holidaymakers have been warned of hurricanes in US islands, including the state of Hawaii and overseas territory Guam.
The US National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) forecasts a “below-normal Atlantic hurricane season” and an “above-normal hurricane season in the central Pacific basin”, the Foreign Office said.
The warning comes as Hawaii was devastated by Hurricane Lala, which killed one woman and damaged over 100 homes.
A 90-year-old woman sadly “perished in the flood”, Hawaii Governor Josh Green said on Monday.
Hawaiian Airlines, Alaska Airlines, and Southwest Airlines all adjusted schedules and cancelled flights in the wake of the storm.
The Hawaii Department of Transportation (Hdot) closed Hilo International Airport (ITO) Saturday morning and Ellison Onizuka Kona International Airport at Keāhole (KOA) Saturday afternoon as the hurricane passed south of Big Island.
In total, 31 flights to and from the island were cancelled.
Both Hawaiian airports have reopened, but some flights continue to be cancelled or delayed as a result of Lala.
Exceptionally heavy rain caused landslides and flash floods which wiped out roads and completely swept away at least one home.
About 100,000 homes and businesses were still without power as of Tuesday.
Hospitals and care-givers have been particularly affected by the lack of electricity and ability to communicate, leaving them reliant on generators.

One local caregiver on Oahu told Hawaii News Now: “My patient is on an oscillating bed she kind of needs the generator for that.”
A number of roads on Big Island were closed, and six bridges were destroyed or “almost destroyed”, according to Mayor of Hawaii County Kimo Alameda.
“While road crews are working hard to clear debris as conditions allow, we need all residents and visitors to heed all warnings, move into safe shelter, and stay off the roadways,” Mr Alameda said.
In Honolulu County, crews conducted about 160 ocean rescues between Friday and Saturday evening, according to Mayor Rich Blangiardi.
At least three people were treated for injuries after falling off or through their roofs while attempting to repair damage.
Around 9.69 million people visited Hawaii in 2024.
Hawaii does not track individual visitors from the UK to the islands, but around 90,000 to 117,000 visit from Europe each year.
Flights to the island take 17 to 19 hours, with no direct flights between Britain and the state.
