Actor Matthew Marsden has launched a scathing assessment on the state of Britain’s mass immigration crisis, arguing that those living on council estates bear the heaviest burden.
Speaking to GB News contributor Will Kingston, the former Coronation Street star described the situation as deeply upsetting.
“It’s really heartbreaking for me,” he told Fire at Will.
“I come from a council estate, a working class council estate, and the people that are the most affected by mass immigration, by this infringement on our rights, are working class people on council estates.”
Mr Marsden, who has been based in the United States for a number of years, framed the issue as one that cuts across both British and American politics, positioning ordinary working people as those who suffer most from policies enacted by distant political elites.
He reserved particular scorn for the Conservative Party, arguing that while both major parties had failed the country, the Tories’ betrayal ran deeper.
“The Tories just as much as the Labour. In fact, it’s more of a betrayal with the Tories because you expect them to preserve the United Kingdom,” he said.
Mr Marsden also rejected the notion that immigration is the foundation of national greatness, in either Britain or America.
“Great Britain isn’t great because of immigration in the same way that the United States isn’t great because of immigration,” he argued. “Great Britain is great because of the people in Great Britain, the British people.”
Extending the argument across the Atlantic, Mr Marsden insisted that the idea of America being built by immigrants was false.
“America wasn’t built by immigrants, it was built by Americans. It’s a leftist lie,” he declared.

Mr Marsden recounted a recent trip to Birmingham, the city closest to where he was raised, saying he found it completely transformed. “It was unrecognisable. The change was so dramatic,” he told GB News.
He acknowledged that some might accuse him of racism for noting that he “hardly saw a white person,” but firmly dismissed such characterisations.
He said: “It’s not about that. It’s about the demographic change in such a short period of time without any assimilation, and that is a recipe for disaster, whether people want to admit it or not.”
Mr Marsden drew a direct comparison between the immigration challenges facing Britain and the US, arguing that the UK’s compact geography makes the effects far more visible.
Turning to the situation under former US president Joe Biden, Mr Marsden claimed that 10 million people had entered the country during his administration, a process he said was “completely destroying the country and the identity of the country.”
He did not mince words about those he holds responsible for enabling such levels of migration on both sides of the Atlantic.
“I think the people that are allowing it are traitors. They’re traitors to their country,” he stated bluntly.
He warned of the fundamental incompatibility of importing certain cultures wholesale into Western nations.
“You cannot import a culture that is not compatible with British and American and Western culture en masse into certain cities and expect it to be a Kumbaya moment,” he said.
“There is going to be clashes, and it’s not going to come from the British people.”
