Donald Trump has launched a fresh attack on Labour’s surrender of the Chagos Islands, branding the planned handover of the British overseas territory to Mauritius as “terrible”.
In a world-exclusive interview with GB News, the US president warned Prime Minister Andy Burnham “will have to look” at the proposition if he intends to pursue it.
Asked by Bev Turner about the deal, Mr Trump said: “It’s terrible. They gave it over to people who shouldn’t really have it.
“In my opinion, that was terrible.”
