Liberal Democrat MP Caroline Voaden has told GB News she welcomes Andy Burnham’s decision to block PC Andrew Harper’s killers from being released early.
Speaking to GB News Breakfast, Ms Voaden said: “I’m really pleased to hear that PC Harper’s killers will remain in jail, and I think what his family have been through, with all the flip-flopping about whether or not they would be released early, has been a disgrace, frankly.

“So I’m glad that that matter has now been been put to rest. In terms of the indefinite sentences, many of these people have served their full sentence and many, many, many years beyond that, and I think most right thinking people would say that if somebody has served the full sentence they were given for a crime they committed, then it’s right that they should be released from prison rather than somebody being released, having only served a third or a half of the time that they were sentenced for in the first place.”
