Write for The Lost Era
Submit evidence-based stories on archaeology, artifacts, and ancient civilizations for a worldwide audience.
What we publish
- Archaeology news (new digs, dating results, peer-reviewed findings).
- Research explainers (methods: carbon dating, ancient DNA, LiDAR—simple language).
- Artifact/inscription spotlights (museum objects, field finds, context + provenance).
- Heritage & museums (exhibitions, conservation, repatriation—balanced coverage).
What we don’t publish
- Sensational “mystery” claims without evidence, or misleading/exaggerated headlines/thumbnails.
- Copy-paste rewrites, spun content, or thin summaries with no added insight.
- Hidden sponsored posts or affiliate-driven “editorial” pieces (must be disclosed clearly).
Editorial standards (must follow)
- Sourcing: Include primary sources where possible (journal paper, university press release, museum catalog page, excavation report) and link them in a “Sources” section.
- Transparency: Clear byline + short author bio (expertise, location, links) required.
- Accuracy: Dates, locations, measurements, and names must be verifiable; factual errors lead to rejection.
- Headlines: Must reflect the article honestly (curiosity is okay, clickbait is not).
Formatting requirements
- Word count: 900–1800 (news), 1500–2500 (explainer), 700–1200 (artifact profile).
- Structure: short intro, subheads, 1 key image with proper credit, then “Sources”.
- Images: Only use images you own or have permission to use; always add credit + source link.
Disclosure rules
- If you have any relationship with a product/organization mentioned (paid, affiliate, sponsor, employer), disclose it clearly in the submission.
- Sponsored content is accepted only if labeled and approved under our Advertising policy (no “hidden ads”).
Review process
- Response time: 3–7 days (depending on queue).
- We may edit for clarity, structure, and accuracy; major changes will be shared before publish.
- If published, we may add an editor’s note and update log when new evidence appears.
